Joseph Stalin and Totalitarianism

The word Totalitarianism means a modern autocratic government in which the state involves itself in all facets of society, including the daily life of its citizens. A totalitarian government seeks to control not only all economic and political matters but the attitudes, values, and beliefs of its population, erasing the distinction between state and society. The citizen’s duty to the state becomes the primary concern of the community, and the goal of the state is the replacement of existing society with a perfect society. the way stalin used Totalitarianism to the Soviet Union was that the citizens were included with the society. and the goverment saw there was alot of political matters but they had attitudes. Also Joseph Stalin was part of the totalitaranism and he was in charge of it two. The people had to obey the goverment no matter what they say and what they do. They have their own secret police called the "thought police" and they all have one leader they must love "Big Brother". The book is really good and it's very similar to the life of Russia under Stalin's rule. Just like the people in Russia the people in the book were also being brainwashed into liking their leader and doing everything they are told.

Film Lesson: Doctor Zhivago

The way this film depict Dr. Zhivago in the russian revolution was that he didnt realy like the russian people at all and there was a war going oncause the russian and the german didnt like each other at all. so the german gave like there own speach about the russian and the russian gave there own message and both of them had little kids talking one from the german were talking bout the russians and one from russians talking aboout the germans. the reason why the Russian people wanted a change was beacause workers were not treated fairly and they didn't want no more war.also Russian become a communism country and People have to share everything such as houses. In a part of a film ,after Dr. Zhivago came back to Moscow he went to his house and it was all full of people, people that he didn't know.

Causes of WW1

what cause the ww1 to happen was that on September 17,1796 President Washington said: "It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliance with any portion of the foreign world.... Why, by interweaving our destiny with that of any part of Europe, entangle our peace and prosperity in the toils of European ambition, rivalship, interest, and humour. World War I was caused in part by the two opposing alliances developed by Bismarckian diplomacy after the Franco-Prussian War. In order to diplomatically isolate France, Bismarck formed the three emperors league in 1872, an alliance between Germany, Russia and Austria-Hungary. This alliance, unlike others, endured until war in 1914. It was this clause that Austria-Hungary invoked in calling Germany to her aid against Russian support for Serbia (who in turn was protected by treaty with Russia). In this ww1 there was alot of agreements and many of countries were going to war and many soldiers died during does wars.
